ROTE LINIE
Installation for the city of Bad Homburg, Germany
An empty lawn at the edge of the "Tannenwaldallee", a promenade that connects the castle with the former hunting lodge of the landgravine Elisabeth. Every day, walkers, cyclists, sportsmen, riders and horses, dogs and their owners, families, and school classes, to name just a few, walk along "Tannenwaldallee" to get from the city center to the forest.
Where there is a brown lawn nowadays, there was the terminus of the red tram line until 50 years ago. The tramcar is a place where we meet a colorful mix of diverse people, and where we can sit back and rest on our journey. The installation "rote Linie" makes this place of rest and exchange emerge again. The installation breaks out of the ground and connects past & present.
